North of Whitley Bay lies Seaton Sluice and Seaton Delaval, which are both steeped in heritage. Seaton Delaval is home to the historic Seaton Delaval Hall, which has recently been acquired by the National Trust. Seaton Sluice has a habour still used by local fishermen. There are miles of sand dunes, golden sandy beaches, coastal walks, excellent sea views and also country walks through Holywell Dene.
